Cayanne Marcus.jpg

Hi there! My name is Cayanne and I became a tutor because writing is an art to me. Each time I help a student uncover his or her own unique voice and style, it is as though the world cracks open with new colors and possibilities. Since graduating from UCLA in 2017, I have spent over two years teaching English as a second language and assisting international students with their college applications and personal statements. While English will always be my first love, I chose to dive into advanced Spanish courses at UCLA with the goal of spending a year after college getting to know my family in Panamá and Colombia. In addition to K - 12 and college English, you can also count on me to help your student with Spanish 1 - 4. When I’m not tutoring, I practice yoga, sing with my nephew on Facetime, and have recently started learning how to write Mandarin Chinese characters. I look forward to getting to know you and your student!

Chelsey Maus.jpg

Well hello there I'm Chelsey Maus and someone once told me I "have an element of humor in everything that I do". My sister always thought it made me dramatic, but it’s because I truly think all work can be fun, including schoolwork! I have always loved learning new things and love sharing that passion with children. I'm a small-town Minnesota girl who came out to the big city of Los Angeles to attend Pepperdine University and surprising to me the city life has started to grow on me. After graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in Theatre Arts, I began working as a substitute teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District in the spring of 2017. It turns out one of my favorite parts of the day is when I get to work one-on-one with a student helping him/her with his/her assignment. Thus, I decided to pursue tutoring as well so I could get more of this one-on-one time helping students. I can't wait to help your child achieve success inside the classroom. In high school I was valedictorian of my class completing every college level course my school offered. I therefore tutor in English, Reading, Writing, Public Speaking, Study Skills, Math up to Algebra I, History, ACT prep, and all subjects 8th grade and below. I have a huge passion for Theatre, Baking, Crafting and I try to get outdoors as much as I can. I especially love to get back to Minnesota to visit family so I can go to the lakes in the summer and enjoy the snow in the winter don’t’cha know!

Hi! My name is Noah Marx. I am a 19 year old Computer Engineering student who is currently attending Pierce College on a leave of absence from UCSB. I am a guitarist and have a passion for music, movies, and art in general. I also have an interest in math, science and coding. I plan to either return to UCSB or transfer to another UC in the fall. After I complete college, I hope to move to a new city and to work as a software developer for a small company. I hope that through my tutoring I can not only help children improve in subjects that they’re struggling in, but catalyze a lifelong interest that far outlasts their tutoring experience. My interest in math and science was a direct byproduct of adults in my life that made these subjects engaging for me, and I hope to have a similar influence on the children I tutor. In high school, I excelled in difficult courses such as AP Calculus BC, AP Physics and AP English Lit. I studied extensively for the SAT, which paid off when I received a score in the 99th percentile in 2017. If you’re looking for help in any level of mathematics, physics, computer science or writing I’d love to help. The skills that I have developed over my years of study, along with my personability and extensive tutoring experience, make me a perfect candidate for any student in need of help.

I recently helped high school seniors, including my younger brother, with their college applications and found great delight doing so!
